Binary Game

1. The highest level I got to was level 4.
2. The hardest part was having to add up all the numbers fast. But once you understand it gets easy.
3. I do like using the binary numbers because I feel like once you get it, its easy.
4. I have no idea how to use my 5 fingers to count with binary.
5. I like how computers use binary numbers because they are easy to do and easy to understand. So easy that humans can do it!

Google Boys Video

I really enjoyed the Google Boys video we watched. I liked how the two guys that came up with Google were collage drop outs because you would never guess that something as big or as popular as Google came from two, not just one but two, collage drop outs! I was surprised to know that Google was "born" the same year that I was, 1998.

Cultural Answers

1. Bead work is known for its beauty.
2. Mathematical concepts will be used.
3. Designs are based off a four- fold symmetry.
4. They are all symmetrical both length wise and height wise.
5. Embroidery, Shoshoni, Pewee, and Navajo.
6. Reflections of the top and bottom, AND left and right.
7. Beading has a deep meaning and is a way to express their culture.
8.  Healing ceremonies, a completes the drawing in one day, using colored powder such as crushed stone. The painting is brushed away later that night, along with the illness.
9. It is important to have both sides looking exactly the same. So they developed a coordinate system, measuring vertical and horizontal distance on the parka using the width of two fingers as the unit of length. The center of the coordinate system is near the belly button.

About Me

My name is Victoria Vieira, but I prefer to be called Tori. I am 16 and a Junior at Reading Memorial High School. I have a little brother named Domenic, he is 3 years old and is my only sibling. My parents were married for only 6 years and go divorced when I was 6 months old. My dad married my step- mom when I was 7. I love photography, and when I am done with high school I would love to be able to go to New England School of Photography. I have loved photography since I was a little girl. Everyone has a gift, if it's writing or drawing or giving a speech, mine is photography. I have 5 different cats. Don't worry, they are not the same house. There are 2 cats at dad's, 1 cat at my mom's, 1 at my mom's boyfriend's, and 1 at my grandma's house. My dad's whole family is in Portugal, except  my aunt and uncle. They were all born in Portugal and I'm proud to be Portuguese. I love being a Portuguese Photographer!

Scavenger Hunt

I mostly used Google because I know that its helpful. I need to be more patient and learn to look at more than one site.

Computer Presentations

I learned that I was right when I say that Apple produces have the fastest internet (and that I still hate Dells). I also learned that in the real world we normally would want the best for our money without spending the max amount. The hardest part was presenting because one of our partners wasn't here and so that made it a little bit harder, but I didn't mind doing the whole thing.

Computer Buying Project- Partners

 I have enjoyed working with my 2 partners. We all get along. If one of us has a question, the others will know the answer. If there is a problem with our project, the others will try to fix it.
